Some houseboats may even be as luxurious as your own home. Most houseboats have fully-stocked kitchens with a refrigerator/freezer, gas stove, microwave, oven, blender, coffee maker and toaster, along with dishes, silverware and plenty of pots and pans. They even provide the dish soap. If you need extra storage for cold foods, make sure there’s a supplementary ice chest.
Houseboats range in size and can occupy anywhere between 4 and 25 people! Most houseboats do not require any type of houseboating license but doing some research and some prior training will ensure that you get to maximize the amount of time everyone gets to spend on their vacation doing recreational things.
The first thing you will want to do when planning a Houseboat trip is first decide your destination. Get a census from the people who are to be joining you on the houseboat trip on what they desire as far as scenery. Cost varies with the location and the facilities being provided on the house boat. From there do research and find out all of the marinas and what kind of inventory of houseboats they have. Always check the weather before hand for obvious reasons. Renting a houseboat can be a fun experience if done with friends and family. There are many marinas that have houseboat rentals in thousands of lakes canals and bays in the world. One of the best experiences I have had was at lake of the woods in Ontario. It has 65,000 miles of expansive and beautiful terrain. If you make it up to that province I would recommend checkout the breathtaking scenery.
