Is it possible to build a house on marsh land?

1. It requires the driving of pilings down far enough into the soft, muddy earth to allow good “purchase,” in the soil, and thus provide a solid foundation.

2. Here is the REAL PROBLEM. Depending on where [what country, state, county, and/or city] you want to build, there MAY BE ENVIRONMENTAL LAWS WHICH PROHIBIT, OR SERIOUSLY LIMIT what you can do.

I suggest that you contact your local governmental building authority [in the US, usually called a Building Inspection Department] and provide the location on which you want to build and ask what regulations apply, and if it's allowed, what you have to do to comply with all regulations.

IF the location is outside of any municipality you could also check with the state environmental protection agency.
